Senior Sessions
Take a look at how I do senior sessions differently.
When you book me as your Senior’s photographer, here is what you can expect from start to finish:
First, The Booking Process
To get you scheduled, all I need is a desired date, package, & location.
These 3 details can be decided with my assistance through text, email, or phone call. Location seems to be the hardest choice to make for many clients, so I am always ready to share ideas and example photos of locations I love to help you find exactly what you are looking for.
Once you know what you want, we reserve your date.
To reserve your date officially, I require 50% of the total package price up front, along with a signed agreement, paperless & completed online.

From Booking to Session Day
Most photographers get you booked, and your next message from them is “Hey! Excited for our session tomorrow :)”
That’s not how I operate. I understand a professional photoshoot is a new experience for most Seniors. So take a look below at the tools and steps I use to prepare and break the ice before your Senior’s session, so that they feel 100% ready.
Styling Outfits
Planning & Styling Support
Most seniors don’t know what they don’t know, so it becomes hard for them to come up with the ‘right’ questions to ask. I find it easiest for everyone to provide a planning guide that covers all the details of questions you might not have thought about until after your session; that way, seniors can be 100% equipped and confident before they even show up to their photoshoot.
Ultimate Guide to Planning A Senior Session: A magazine I created full of great tips and includes guidance on topics like,
+ What colors & patterns to avoid.
+ What props you might consider.
+ Advice for makeup, hair, & more.
Text Me With Your Questions: Shopping and can’t decide which heels to go with? Shoot me a text, and if available, I am always willing to help.
Confident Posing
How-To Senior Posing Videos
I have 8+ years of experience posing clients during sessions. I know what to look for and how to make it comfortable for your senior. I also know that most seniors feel a bit out of their depth when posing for photos and would appreciate time to get comfortable.
Videos on Posing for Girls & Guys: For all seniors who book with me, I provide exclusive educational videos on posing which cover topics such as,
+ Common tips I normally share in-session.
+ A follow-along posing section to try different poses.
+ Description of static versus dynamic posing and how to get the most variety out of your session.
I don’t treat watching these videos like homework; there is no follow-up. Think of these videos as resources for those wanting to maximize their experience.
*Separate videos are available for senior guys and girls.
Breaking the Ice
Pre-Session Video Call
One of the things clients love the most about our pre-session planning is the Planning Video Call. They normally happen on a Monday or Tuesday, 1-2 weeks before your session. Each call usually lasts between 30 minutes and an hour.
Normally, I will encourage seniors to have outfits mostly decided by the call. We can look through them together, discuss options, and make sure they fit with the location. This is also a really easy time to ask the little questions and talk through the logistics that might feel like a lot for both parent and senior. We walk through things like hairstyles, makeup, changing times, and more.
The number one goal in these calls is to make it so I don’t feel like a faceless stranger you are meeting for the first time at your session. This helps the session go smoothly by allowing your senior to relax more quickly and be less conscious of me as the photographer.
Picking the Perfect Package
Here is the best step-by-step for deciding which package is right for you:
Outfits: How many outfits do you want to capture? If you have a traditional outfit, sports outfit, or love to dress up, I would suggest choosing a session that allows for more than 2 outfits.
Locations: If you have more than one spot in mind for your session, choose a package that allows for 2 nearby locations (nearby locations are defined as places within 15-20min of one another).
Images: First, are you looking for digital-only files, or do you want Heirloom products (albums, framed prints, grad invites) as well? That can help you decide if you pick a session from the ‘Digital-Only’ or ‘& Heirloom’ categories.

Post Session FAQs
What is the turn-around time?
1
Once I have received confirmation that you have completed your favorites list, you will recieve your edited gallery within 4 weeks.
When do I give you the final payment?
2
Final payment is calculated after proof selection, as clients have the opportunity at that time to select extra images for an extra charge. Once selection is complete, you will recieve a Final Invoice PDF document outlining the remainder due. Completed final galleries will not be released to the client until remaining payment is received.
Do I get to choose my images?
3
After sessions, you recieve an online gallery of lightly adjusted proofs within 48 hours (normally between 100-250 images). Using the favorites button, you will create a list of the exact images you’d like me to edit.
How can I get prints/physical products?
4
If you choose a digital-only package and later decide you’d like to purchase physical products, every final gallery I send clients comes equipped with an online ordering system through which you can order products that are then directly shipped to your home. You also recieve print rights, although I do recommend using the provided print shop as I am partnered with an amazing high-quality professional print company that solely services photographers and their clients.
