    For those who want their story preserved with intention and depth, Portrait Journal sessions combine fine portraiture with personal narrative. Through a dedicated interview, thoughtful styling, and meaningful locations, your images are paired with your own words and memories inside a custom heirloom book. Whether experienced as a shorter Chapter session or a more immersive Novel experience, each book becomes a tangible reflection of your voice, values, and season of life.

  • The Artisan Portrait

    Artisan Portraits blend classical symbolism with modern portraiture to create one-of-a-kind fine art pieces, reminiscent of Renaissance and Dutch Veritas paintings. Using intentional posing and visual metaphors, a single session results in a framed work of art and a curated set of digital images that reflect the deeper layers of your identity, beliefs, or story. Available standalone or as an add-on within Chapter and Novel sessions.

  • Legacy Editions

    Designed for stories that span generations.

    Family Legacy albums gather interviews and imagery from multiple family members, making them ideal for reunions, anniversaries, or times of gathering. Life Sketch albums are created in honor of loved ones who have passed or are unable to participate in a session, using collected photos, writings, and memories to tell their story with care.

    Each project is fully customized, blending narrative, imagery, and legacy into a deeply personal keepsake. These heirloom albums are crafted to preserve heritage, voice, and values in a form meant to be shared, celebrated, and handed down.

  • Before creating The Portrait Journal, I spent eight years as a fashion and product photographer. Through both self-guided and formal education, I gained the skills to craft technically precise and captivating images. During this time, I collaborated with numerous models and brands to photograph campaigns designed to sell not just products, but stories, ideas, and emotions. Most recently, I spent time in Europe working closely with an agency to develop their models, gaining deeper insight into the professional side of photography and modeling. I was doing everything right to have a successful fashion photography career, and it was working — but I began to wonder if my work could mean even more.

  • After many years in one industry, it might have seemed natural to continue along the same path. If I had the talent to succeed, why not follow through? Those were my thoughts for years, until I realized I needed a change. I began exploring how I could use my skills to create meaning, to do work that truly mattered, without letting go of the invaluable experiences that had brought me to this point.

  • The Portrait Journal is the fruit of my efforts. In studying cultural trends, I realized that photo albums today have become a far cry from what they were even twenty years ago. Where have the handwritten captions, ticket stubs, and personal touches gone? Instead, we are left with books of images that often resemble perfectly curated social media feeds.

    Not anymore.

    By using my talents not only to capture stories through photography but also to conduct interviews and forge personal connections, each album becomes more than just images on a page. Every book is thoughtfully filled with words, symbols, and imagery that reflect your story and values like no other — crafting a keepsake that will tug at your heartstrings for decades to come.
